Brendon McCullum powered New Zealand to a superb 59 runs victory over Bangladesh in the 5th match of T20 World Cup 2012. Brendon McCullum scored 123 runs, the highest individual Twenty20 to take New Zealand to an emphatic 191-3 in 20 overs.

Chasing 192 to win and create an upset, Bangladesh lost Tamim Iqbal in the very first over and soon wickets started to fall at regular intervals. Nasir Hossain scored a half century but it was not enough to take the team even close to victory. Finally Bangladesh were able to score 132/8 in alloted 20 overs and thus lost the match by 59 runs.
