Today in the 18th match of T20 World Cup 2012, Sri Lanka registered a comprehensive 9 wickets victory over West Indies.

Earlier West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. But Sri Lankan bowlers never allowed them to get away. Two quick wickets reduced West Indies to 16/2 in 5.1 overs. M Samuels and Dwayne Bravo then played sensibly and took the score past 50 run mark. When the team score was 81, Dwayne Bravo got out soon followed by K Pollard. West Indies batsmen could finally manage to score just 129/5 in 20 overs.

Chasing 130 to win, Sri Lanka lost Dilshan in the third over but M Jayawardene and K Sangakkara then made sure no more wickets fell. Jayawardene scored a brilliant 65 off 49 balls followed by 34 ball 39 by Sangakkara. The duo took the team to a 9 wicket win in the 16th over.
