Earlier West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first.J Charles and C Gayle
scored a brilliant 103 in 11 overs for the first wicket stand and laid a solid platform for a big score. But some quick wickets pegged them back but a solid 84 from J Charles helped them post a good total of 179/5 in 20 overs.

Chasing 180 to win, defending Champions England got off to the worst start as they lost C Kieswetter in the very first over for a duck. On the very next ball, LJ Wright also got out leaving England struggling at 0/2 in the very first over. But AD Hales and E Morgan then brought England back into the game and at one stage it looked England might be able to win the match. But with the wicket of Hales, it was all over for them and they finally lost the match by 15 runs.
